YURY GONCHAROV was born in Berlin. He studied at the Tchaikovsky State Conservatory in Moscow with professor Vera Gornostaeva who continues in the traditions of legendary Heinrich Neuhaus.
Having taken his degree Yury entered the wide musical world. He has a great number of solo and symphonic concerts and also many concerts with the chamber ensembles, vocal and instrumental soloists and ensembles playing the old composers works by the cembalo and organ as well.
Yury Goncharov is a member of Russian Concert Artists Union. He acts in the cinema and TV.
In the course of Yurys post-graduate studies at the St. Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory professor Waldemar Nielsen was his creative adviser. After the post-graduate course Yury Goncharov taught at the piano faculty of St. Petersburg Conservatory.
Yury Goncharov is a prize-winner (laureate & diplomate) of International contests and festivals and a participant of many projects of Philharmonic society "Petersburg-Concert", Russian Cultural Centre, Centre of Modern Art, Centre of National Cultures, National Opera Centre, International enterprises "Northern Venice", "Italian Nightingale", other concert organizations and associations, worked at the theatre "St.Petersburg Opera", Rimsky-Korsakov Opera & Ballet Theatre, St.Petersburg State University and as a judge of the competitions. He has been recording CD and DVDs with vocalists, instrumentalists, ensembles, orchestras. In Germany (Tonstudio Schreiber) Yury has recorded 3 solo CDs (Chopin, Schumann, Russian composers).
He is often on his tours abroad. A highly gifted pianist with a wide repertoire, Yuri is renowned for his lyrical interpretations of romantic compositions. With his outstanding abilities to express himself on the piano and his superior technical skills, he excels in performing masterworks of highest virtuosity
